Workshops and Professional Trainings for Adults
2 hour workshops (themes below) with the opportunity to purchase a personally signed copy of The Rag Doll Gift.
Importance of Tradition - This Is Us
The Rag Doll Gift, a children’s picture book, is a gentle story about the strength of family, the comfort of tradition, and the boundlessness of love. Research shows that traditions are one of the three pillars of strong, healthy families. Traditions are behaviors and routines that give a family it's identity and purpose; they pass through generations, connecting us and giving us all a sense of belonging. Reading, presentation, and discussion for parents, grandparents and any adult who loves a child!
Care & Comfort
Children in grief need care and comfort. Children’s literature can help. High quality picture books dealing with loss can open doors to conversation and provide space for healing in a natural comforting way. We will read some of these books, discuss methods for sharing them with children, and explore activities that may provide extended comfort. One such book is The Rag Doll Gift; as a gentle story about loss, it also highlights the strength of family, the comfort of traditions, and the boundlessness of love.
Somebody Come and Play!
An opportunity to explore, gain insights, and feel the power of play. When children are fully and freely engaged in play, they learn new things, develop social and emotional skills, feel part of a community, and take on new challenges. The same is true for adults! Play : it's not just for kids anymore! Regardless of age, play promotes active engagement, internal control, joyfulness, and social connection. Come play! You will learn a lot about the children in your life and a lot about yourself.
From Idea To Here
I will share The Rag Doll Gift and speak about my process of bringing this book from the seed of an idea to a published work. Participants can see and hear about the journey of The Rag Doll Gift "from idea to here" with a slide show, commentary, display, and Q&A.
